Purple Tulip
‘Purple Tulip’ is the fifth painting from my ‘Dreaming in the Shadows’ Collection. It represents my lifelong battle with imposter syndrome and always feeling like I’m on the outside looking in. I specifically had these feelings as a teacher and it progressed over time, manifesting more deeply when I returned to teaching after maternity leave and the whole curriculum had changed. Studies have shown that at least 70% of people will experience Imposter syndrome at some time in their life. Through a combination of self-care, self-love, facing my fears, affirmations and meditation I am learning to shine my light and you can too.
Without the darkness there is no light.
