‘Found’ is part of a pair of paintings called ‘Lost’ and ‘Found’. The wee girl, modelled by my daughter, is lost in the woods. Dreams about being lost usually denote anxiety, confusion, frustration or even a sense of not fitting in. This is a feeling I have been familiar with my entire life and I believe that’s true for many people. Everyone wants to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. The girl is found by the panda in the partner painting so it’s a happy ending. This illustration was also used in the children’s book I illustrated, ‘A Dream Plan for Dottie’ written by Lindsay Littleson.
