Being brought up going to Sunday School The Garden of Eden has always irked me. This biblical creation order, where Adam was created first and given dominion over the animals before the creation of Eve, is the foundation for patriarchy. I prefer to think of it as Eve’s Garden, a place of feminine energy, a reference to Gaia, the personification of earth and mother of all life.
